Quantum Information has been
one of the main themes of research within FET (Future and
Emerging Technologies) in the last few years. A proactive
initiative in quantum information processing and communication
(QIPC) was launched in 1999, with 12 projects now close to
end. In 2002 a second call for proposals followed, adding
13 more projects that will start at the beginning of 2003.
More proposals in related areas were received in the open
scheme, and subsequent projects launched.
QIPC will continue in FP6; a
call is scheduled for the end of 2003, with projects starting
in the second half of 2004.
This workshop is organized to
prepare the forthcoming call for proposals, i.e. to discuss
the themes that will be called and how the new instruments
(Integrated Projects and Networks of Excellence) will be used.
The workshop is open to scientists and researchers, from academia
and from industry, who have a strong interest in quantum information
processing and who are willing to submit proposals in this
area.
Participation at this workshop
is free of charge (no registration fee); please note however
that travel and subsistence expenses will NOT be reimbursed.
In order to enable proper planning,
all attendees are strongly recommended to register
before 31 January 2003.
The location and timing has
been chosen to coincide with the third QIPC projects review,
which is being held at the same premises, on March 10-12,
2003. |
